AS OF MID-MAY, BROOKLYN KITCHENS STORE SEIZED BY MARSHAL FOR NON-PAYMENT OF RENT.

Game Over?

Why use Brooklyn Kitchens (formerly known as Garfield Kitchens) to supply your kitchen and bath needs?

After all, the owner, Brian Ackerman, has a lovely showroom in the heart of Park Slope. How bad could it be?

Very, very bad.

I, Denton Taylor, who has resided in Park Slope for almost twenty years, am here to tell you that if you value your sanity, DO NOT give Brooklyn Kitchens a penny of your money. You will regret it.

The local media has picked this story up fairly well:
The Brooklyn Paper

FIPS

Gothamist

Brick Underground

Of course there are plenty of grudge sites, and generally two sides to every story. But efore you dismiss this as one, please check the following sources, as well as the above unbiased media stories.

Some of the highlights from my home renovation:

-24 weeks for glass shower doors that were promised in two weeks;
-14 weeks for vanities ordered direct from China after being assured "I have fifty in stock at all times";
-Marble sink tops that took two months and had to be returned multiple times due to clips in improper location, faucet holes mis-drilled, back splash edge not finished;
-Multi-month wait for a bathtub promised in four weeks;
-Bathtub holes drilled to accept claw foot style instead of ordered modern style hardware;
-Kitchen cabinets were designed incorrectly to deviate from architect's plan, so stove no longer centered as desired;
-Multiple missing and incorrect kitchen cabinet trim;

If, after doing your research, you still believe in supporting Brooklyn Kitchens, one last word of advice. DO NOT make the mistake I did and give him money up front in exchange for a 'discount'. You will have no power whatsoever.

My name is Denton Taylor and I stand behind this website.
